FAQ
LASER HAIR REDUCTION
Laser hair removal works by using concentrated light to affect hair follicles, which are small cavities in the skin from which hair grows. Laser works best on dark coarse hair and reduces them to the point where most of them are completely removed and few left ones become significantly thinner and invisible.
There may be some discomfort however the pain level is tolerable for many individuals. The level of discomfort depends on the sensitivity of the area.
It’s safe for all skin types, hair types and most hair colours.
Yes. If you try to calculate the amount that you spend each month in doing the rounds of salons and waxing and the one time permanent investment that you have to make in order to get rid of the unwanted hair, this process would become very cost effective.
The most common side effects are minor and last 1 to 3 days. Three of the most common are:
- Discomfort
- Swelling
- Redness.
CHEMICAL PEEL
Chemical Peeling agent resurfaces the skin by inducing a controlled wound and thus removing superficial layers of skin. As a result, chemical peels promote the growth of a new healthy top skin layer and improve skin problems like hyper pigmentation, uneven skin texture and skin impurities.
Recovery time will vary based on the type and strength of the peel. Immediately after the peel, your skin will feel tight and may be red. Any visible peeling will be light and fluffy and easily controlled with moisturizer. Peeling usually last 3-5 days, depending on the actual peel treatment. Use of gentle cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen is important as it ill enhance the healing process and results. Normal activity may be resumed after the peel, however strenuous exercise and heavy sweating should be avoided for 3-7 days. Sun exposure should be avoided as it may induce swelling, redness and for deeper peels blisters under the skin. Peeling skin should be allowed to slough off naturally. Picking or peeling of flaking skin is prohibited, as it may lead to scarring. Use of prescription topical should be avoided for 3-5 days.
The success of the peel should not be judged by the amount of peeling, but by the end result that the peel will produce. The amount of peeling may vary depending on individual skin condition at the time of the peel or the depth of the peel. Regardless of the degree of peeling, the skin is still sloughing off at an accelerated rate, resulting in the improvement of skin tone and texture and an improvement of uneven skin tone.
- Wounded skin
- History of recent chemotherapy or radiation therapy
- Women who are pregnant or actively breastfeeding
- Patients with vitiligo
Exercise that produces a lot of heavy sweating should be avoided especially on the day of the peeling. You may resume all other regular activities the next day.
Use of soap free gentle cleanser shall be used to wash your face. Scrubs should be avoided while skin is peeling. Application of a hydrating moisturizer twice a day or as often as necessary is recommended to relieve dryness and control peeling. Sunblock must be worn daily. Its best to avoid prolonged sun exposure or at least 1-week post peel.
Fillers
Injectable fillers is a soft tissue filler injected into the skin at different depths to help fill in facial wrinkles, provide facial volume and augment facial features: restoring a smoother appearance. Most of these wrinkle fillers are temporary because they are eventually absorbed by the body.
Fortunately, dermal fillers work very quickly, and you don’t have to wait twelve months to see the full result and benefit of the injection. These injectable treatments take some time to integrate into your tissues and its normal for your dermal fillers to take up to two weeks to fully settle into your face.
Although extremely rare, dermal fillers are able to migrate within the skin if consistent and adequate pressure is applied to them. For this reason, we advice patients not to get a facial, massage (on the treated skin) or microdermabrassion for the first two weeks following their filler injections.
- Sleeping on your back is the safest position after any cosmetic procedure. The first night after your treatment, sleep with your head elevated to help avoid/reduce swelling and to ensure that the newly injected fillers stay in place.
Apply a cool compress to the treated area (do not apply ice directly to the skin) for 10 minutes or every 1 hour after on the day of the treatment. Avoid any heat inducing activities for 24 hours such as strenuous exercise, spas, saunas and hot showers
Do not touch the treated area for at least 6-8 hours afterwards. The risk of infection is much higher in the time immediately after your filler treatment, so medical experts recommend not touching the affected area for at least that amount of time.
Swelling subsides, typically, within a day few days. Its most apparent 24 to 72 hours after treatment before starting to subside gradually.
Filers are used for correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and skin folds. Increasing fullness of lips, cheeks, chin, under-eye hollows and jaw line.
- Do not rub or massage the treated area and avoid make-up if possible.
- Avoid sleeping on your face the first night.
- Do not exercise or partake in any strenuous activity for the next 12 hours.
- Avoid alcohol consumption for the next 24 hours.
Botox
In simple term, botox is a drug prepared from botulin, used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically to remove wrinkles by temporarily paralysing facial muscles.
Botox injection blocks certain chemical signals from nerves, mostly signals that cause muscles to contract. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead, around the eyes and other areas on the face.
- Do not rub or massage the treated area and avoid make-up if possible.
- Avoid sleeping on your face the first night.
- Do not exercise or partake in any strenuous activity for the next 12 hours.
- Avoid alcohol consumption for the next 24 hours.
PRP
Platelet rich Plasma (PRP) is an injectable treatment by which a person’s own blood is used. Platelets are vital in the process of tissue healingand the growth of new cells. PRP thereby promotes collagen production, regenerates the skin tissue and essentially reenergise your cells into rejuvenating themselves. The release of growth factors and amphiphiles th healing process. PRP softens fine lines and wrinkles, tighten the skin and improve skin tone and texture.
Popularly known as Vampire Facial, using the power of your blood’s platelets to rejuvenate skin, reinvigorate cellular turnover, helps in growing collagen, regenerates the tissue and makes your skin smooth and tight. This treatment helps in repairing uneven skin tone, fine lines and winkles. Treats Acne scars, Surgical Scars, hyper pigmentation, sun damage, reduce large pores and create skin texture and tone skin that is smoother, younger and better.
The treatment of PRP involves a fraction of blood, collected or drawn up from the individual patient into a syringe. The collected blood is then spun down in a special centrifuge to separate its components. The platelet rich is then reinjected and/or micro-needled back into the skin.
Some mild discomfort may be felt while the PRP is being reinjected. The sensation typically felt is a burning or tingling sensation. This sensation only lasts only last for few minutes after the PRP is injected. To ensure our patients are comfortable throughout the entire PRP treatment and apply topical numbing cream.
Generally, patients notice tightening and a more even tone to their skin in a week or two after the PRP injections.
Results from PRP injections can be seen for many years after treatment. However, these results vary due to the individual’s natural variation in quality of Platelet Rich Plasma, as well as their lifestyle. While we cannot stop the aging process, we can slow it down. Results from PRP can be extended with proper at home skin care maintenance.
There is no downtime associated with PRP injections. However, after your treatment, your skin may be red. This is normal and to be expected. Redness usually last from one to 24 hours. You may also have a little swelling in some areas. Healing time varies from patient to patient.
Results can be seen after one treatment, but the exact amount of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. Generally, 2-3 treatments are advised, but more may be indicated for some individuals.
PRP used for aesthetic procedures are safe for most individuals. There are very few contradictions with PRP. The most common side effects associated with PRP are mild to moderate swelling and redness.
PRP HAIR
PRP is used to halt or reverse miniaturization, the process that causes common baldness.
PRP for hair is to stimulate the growth of follicles, thereby reversing the hair miniaturization (thinning hair) seen in androgenic alopecia (common baldness).
Platelet Rich Plasma offers an additional way to stimulate hair growth, especially in people who cannot use other form of treatment. For example, it may be useful if someone is not a candidate for hair transplant or cannot use finasteride. It is also useful in the treatment of crown thinning where a hair transplant may not be appropriate.
Patients usually see results in 3 to 6 months. However, the response time may be variable.
Yes.
Yes.
You may have some very temporary soreness and swelling, but many patients experience nothing.
We are only using platelet rich plasma to treat hair loss on the scalp at this time.
Results can be seen after 5-7 treatment, but the exact amount of treatments needed varies from patient to patient. Generally, 10 treatments are advised, but more may be indicated for some individuals.
- Do not rub or massage the treated area.
- Do not exercise or partake in any strenuous activity for the next 12 hours.
- Avoid alcohol consumption for the next 24 hours.
Microblading
Microbladng is a tattooing technique and form of semi permanent make up in which a small handheld toolmade of several tiny needles is used to add semi permanent pigment to the skin.
Generally, results can last from 6 to 12 months depending on your skin type, lifestyle and hwo often you get touch ups.
No. Microblading is not designed to permanently remove any of the hair in your eyebrows.
Microblading will most likely feel different and hurt less than a traditional tattoo because of the numbing cream (anesthetic) applied prior to the procedure and because there are fewer needles involved. As a rule, traditional tattoo professionals don’t use any anesthetic for their tattoo procedure.
Thread Lift
A thread lift is a procedure wherein temporary sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible lift in the skin. It is a minimal invasive cosmetic procedure that tightens the skin on the face. During the thread lift, threads are used to pull up portions of the skin to reduce the appearance of aging.
Less recovery time
No scarring
Cryolypolysis
Cryopolisis commonly referred to as fat freezing is a nonsurgical fat reduction procedure that uses cold temperature to reduce fat deposits in certain areas of the body. The cool sculpting device targets and freezes fat cells so your body can naturally remove them in the weeks and months that follows.
The cool sculpting applicator is applied to one area of the unwanted area of unwanted focal fat at a time. Using vacuum suction, the device gently draws tissues with unwanted fat into chamber. Controlled cooling is then delivered to the area and the fat cells undergo ‘’Cryolypolysis” (cell death) due to freezing while the surrounding tissue is unharmed.
There is some mild, temporary discomfort due to the initiation of strong suction and extreme cold. You may experience sensations of pulling, mild pinching, tingling, stinging or cramping. However, as the temperature falls, there is a numbing effect. There may be some hypersensitivity of the skin in the treated area post-treatment but this will generally disappear in a day or two. There may also be some tenderness or soreness for few days.
Results may be seen from 1-3 months after the treatment. Full results from that session should be achieved within 12 weeks. Many patients require more than one treatment session to achieve their results.
